Aim of conference
The aim of the APCLC 2014 is to bring together academics from around the world, and from the Asia Pacific area in particular, in order to report on the varied developments in the use of and investigation into corpora in linguistics, language learning and translation studies. Some countries have a number of well-developed projects related to the theoretical and applied aspects of corpus analysis; other countries are just starting to develop corpus resources. Through this conference, we will provide a forum for the exchange of ideas and expertise and lay the foundations for future developments in the application of corpus resources in Asia and the Pacific.
Papers are invited on all aspects of Corpus Linguistics, from teachers, research students, researchers, training consultants and practitioners from the industry. Conference themes include, but are not limited to:
corpora and language learning translation corpora corpora and the web corpora and discourse analysis learner corpora usage-based linguistics theoretical issues in corpus analysis

The Asia Pacific Corpus Linguistics Association aims to promote the study and development of corpus linguistics research and applications in the Asia-Pacific Region. Through the website, the Association provides news on organisations and conferences related to corpus linguistics. One important purpose of the Association is to maintain the continuity of the Asia Pacific Corpus Linguistics Conferences and to provide a mechanism for selecting the location of future conferences.
